Company History _______________________________________
The Bill Miles Co was formed in 1968 by Bill Miles. Dan Miles began learning the business working part-time for the company while attending high school and joined the company full-time in 1983.

Early enhancements included installing the firm's first computers, initiating sales calls on noncommercial operators and beginning a program of "pre-selling" equipment in local markets to increase dealer involvement.

While improvements such as these might seem sufficient for many, they merely represented a warm-up. Over the years, the company has initiated a host of changes, including renaming the company MarkeTeam to reflect the "team management" philosophy.

MarkeTeam emphasizes team management which has contributed greatly to its success. Each person on the team is a decision-maker, responsible for their own territories and customers, while continuing to work towards the common goals of the company.

 

Our professional and knowledgeable outside sales staff - many who are CFSP and ServSafe certified - aggressively cover our market and are continuously involved in local food service industry chapters.

 

Our inside sales staff has over 50 years of industry experience and not only provides exceptional support to the outside sales force, but to our customers as well. In addition to supporting our customer base, our inside sales team provides daily assistance to our manufacturers and helps in the administration and logistical support for our multi-unit accounts.

 

 

Our Strengths ______________________________________

MarkeTeam has many unique factors to offer that differentiate them from other representatives. Some of these factors include working knowledge of the territory, utilization of technology, strength of marketing plans, and the ability to implement and culitvate relationships.

 

Another major MarkeTeam strength is employing the 70/30 approach and utilizing our critical mass to spend substantial time with specifiers/designers and end-users, just some of which include school districts, hospitals, and the multi-unit chains based in our marketing area.

 

 

Technology _______________________________________

MarkeTeam's utilization of modern technology has continued to grow. Every outside salesperson, including those in our 4 satellite offices, has a laptop with remote user access, as well as a Smart Phone to increase efficiency and communication. Our customer orders are electronically processed to our manufacturers improving turn-around time and accuracy. Our office environment is virtually paperless adding speed and precision to our functionality.

MarkeTeam has recently made an even stronger commitment to focus on marketing projects designed to develop and grow their position as a leader in this industry.

MarkeTeam has developed and grown their contact list into a multi-faceted database (15,000+ contacts) with one of the highlights being a Market Segmentation breakdown. Each contact is designated an appropriate category which means MarkeTeam can create marketing projects specifically targeting any of the categories and choose only those that would have an interest in the marketed product. This prevents our customers from being overwhelmed with information that is not applicable to their industry segment.

 

 

FS Solutions Newsletter_____________________________
MarkeTeam also produces a professionally printed 4-page, full-color newsletter for promotional and informational purposes. These issues are published and mailed to our database of which the total contact list is 15,000-plus, in addition to being available on the website. The two areas of focus in our newsletter are FS Products and FS Equipment. In addition, we incorporate new product announcements, special product offers, spotlight on specific manufacturers and operator success stories.

MarkeTeam's website continues to advance and improve. Our Resource Center includes search functions to locate Dealers, Service Agencies, Designers, Installers, Architects, Order Tracking and quick links to the most popular and useful food service associations. Our Products In Action section highlights pictures and case studies of our most recent success stories. In addition, we have a secure Dealer Log-In area for up-to-date sensitive information at your fingertips. Our site is much more than an electronic resume, it is an industry resource.

 

 

Our Facilities _______________________________________

MarkeTeam's corporate office is located in Vancouver, Washington.  With satellite offices in Boise, Honolulu and Seattle, we provide aggressive coverage for Oregon, Washington, Idaho, Montana, Alaska and Hawaii. With some of our accounts expanding rapidly internationally, our logistics support now covers virtually the entire world.

In our corporate office, we have a fully operational commercial test kitchen. Our kitchen is available for product testing and product training and comfortably accommodates 30 people.

MarkeTeam's resources allow us to provide our manufacturers and distribution partners the highest level of support and services.
